Mac OS is a series of graphical user interface-based operating systems developed by Apple Inc. for their Macintosh line of computer systems (personal computers and workstations). The original version was the integral and unnamed system software first introduced in year 1984 with the original Macintosh, and point to simply as the [System] software. A popular feature of its latest version, Mac OS X , is a desktop interface with some 3D appearance characteristics. It has a modular design intended to make it easier to add new features to the operating system in the future.

Chromium OS is a Linux-based operating system which have been designed by Google to work exclusively with web applications. It is also an open-source project that aims to build an operating system that provides a fast and more secure computing experience for people who spend major of their time on the web.

Linux is a ‘Unix’ like computer operating system that assembled under a model of free and open source software development and distribution. This operating system was originally developed as a free operating system for Intel x86-based personal computers and been ported to more computer hardware platforms than any other operating system.

Windows is a family of operating systems for personal computers. Windows dominates the world’s personal computer, running by some estimates  on more than 90%  of all personal computers. Examples of windows :

1.WINDOWS 1.0-2.0 (1985-1992)

Introduced in 1985, Microsoft Windows 1.0 was named due to the computing boxes  or windows that represented a fundamental aspect of the operating system. Instead of typing MS-DOS commands, windows 1.0 allowed users to point and click to access the windows.

2.WINDOWS 8(2012)

Completely redesigned operating system that have been developed from the ground up with touch screen use in mind as well as near instant on capabilities that enable a Windows 8 PC to load and start up in a matter of seconds rather than in minutes.

UNIX operating system ?

Unix is a popular multitasking operating system which developed at Bell Labs in the early 1970. UNIX was created to be a small, flexible system used exclusively by programmers. UNIX was one of the first operating systems to be written in a higher level programming language namely C. This mean that it could be installed on virtually any computer for which a C compiler existed.
