Our desktop served our main purpose which is for education purpose as a student while the compared laptop is a bit too much for a student. The laptop is obviously more suitable as a gaming laptop because of its high specifications. Obviously, our ideal desktop cost much less to be possessed compared to the laptop which might cost roughly twice more. We believe that desktop is always a better choice compared to a laptop because a laptop is easy to be broken for its small size and portable. Also, once a laptop is used for a long continuous period of time, it will undergo overheating much faster than a desktop. An advanced laptop as such presented will only be as good for now. However, a desktop is easy to be altered and can be upgraded at any time according to technology clock. Thus, a desktop is always up to date according to the owner just by buying certain hardware desired. On the other hand, once a laptop goes outdated, the owner has to buy a new laptop which will cost a lot. The portability might be an advantage for some reasons. However, for safety purposes, a desktop is a more ideal choice compared to a laptop. Some owners love the fact that laptop is easy to be carried around but so does the robbers. This will make it easier for the robbers to steal a laptop than a desktop.

The new Intel Core i series features Hyper Threading technology and 32 m manufacturing technology, meaning that they will require less power to run and will emit less heat when operating.

Features and Benefits of Intel Core I 5

Intel ® Turbo Boost Technology has greater speed for demanding applications, dynamically accelerating performances to match our workload. In other words, more performances when we need it the most.

Intel ® HD graphic provides superb visual performances for shaper images, richer colour, life-like video and audio. Available on Intel core I 5-600 processor series.

Intel ® smart cache is shared cache dynamically allocated to each processor core, based on workload. This efficient, optimized implementation increases the probability that each core can access data from the fast cache, significantly reducing latency to frequency used data and improving performances. It is optimised for industry ,which lead multi threaded games.

Basically, i 5 uses high definition video graphic like HD games animation. In short we can say HD technology.

WHAT IS RASPBERRY PI??

The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card-sized single-board computer developed in the UK by the Raspberry Pi Foundation with the intention of promoting the teaching of basic computer science in schools. It’s a capable little PC which can be used for many of the things that your desktop PC does, like spreadsheets, word-processing and games.
The Raspberry Pi is manufactured through licensed manufacturing deals with Element 14/Premier Farnell, RS Components and Egoman. All of these companies sell the Raspberry Pi online. Egoman produce a version that is only able to be distributed in China and Taiwan and can be distinguished from other Pis as they are Red and do not have the FCC/CE marks. All of the hardware is the same.
The Raspberry Pi has a Broadcom BCM2835 system on a chip (SoC), which includes an ARM1176JZF-S 700 MHz processor (The firmware includes a number of "Turbo" modes so that the user can attempt overclocking, up to 1 GHz, without affecting the warranty), VideoCore IV GPU, and was originally shipped with 256 megabytes of RAM, later upgraded to 512 MB. It does not include a built-in hard disk or solid-state drive, but uses an SD card for booting and long-term storage. The Foundation's goal is to offer two versions, priced at US$25 and US$35. The Foundation started accepting orders for the higher priced model B on 29 February 2012, and the lower cost model A on 4 February 2013.
The Foundation provides Debian and Arch Linux ARM distributions for download. Also planned are tools for supporting Python as the main programming language, with support for BBC BASIC, (via the RISC OS image or the "Brandy Basic" clone for Linux), C, and Perl.
On 17 December 2012 the Raspberry Pi Foundation, in collaboration with IndieCity and Velocix, opened the "Pi Store", as a "one-stop shop for all your Raspberry Pi (software) needs". Using an application included in Raspbian, users can browse through several categories and download what they want. Software can also be uploaded for moderation and release.

SCL 1 (The advantages of using 32 GB maximum memory size)

What is computer memory..

In computing, memory refers to the physical devices used to store programs (sequences of instructions) or data (e.g. program state information) on a temporary or permanent basis for use in a computer or other digital electronic device. The term primary memory is used for the information in physical systems which function at high-speed (i.e. RAM), as a distinction from secondary memory, which are physical devices for program and data storage which are slow to access but offer higher memory capacity. Primary memory stored on secondary memory is called "virtual memory". An archaic synonym for memory is store. The term "memory", meaning primary memory is often associated with addressable semiconductor memory, i.e. integrated circuits consisting of silicon-based transistors, used for example asprimary memory but also other purposes in computers and other digital electronic devices. There are two main types of semiconductor memory: volatile and non-volatile. Examples of non-volatile memory are flash memory (sometimes used as secondary, sometimes primary computer memory) and ROM/PROM/EPROM/EEPROM memory (used for firmware such as boot programs). Examples of volatile memory are primary memory (typically dynamic RAM, DRAM), and fast CPU cache memory (typically static RAM, SRAM, which is fast but energy-consuming and offer lower memory capacity per area unit than DRAM).The term storage is often used to describe secondary memory such as tape, magnetic disks and optical discs (CD-ROM and DVD-ROM).

Our group has agree to use 32 GB maximum of memory size for our ideal computer. In today's society, student usually keep their documents, notes and essay in the form of soft copy. Thus, student like us need a larger computer memory in order to store more data. As we all know, the larger the memory data, the larger the amount of data can be stored and kept in the computer. On the other hand, this type of memory data will not give any effect to the speed of the computer. Although it keep enormous amount of data, it still can perform computer task efficiently. Therefore, it can prevent the computer from lagging when application is running and avoid crashing. Unlike other computer who is using a small maximum memory size, the computer will undergoes some lagging and eventually make the computer stop functioning. This situation may lead to the spoilage and damage of the computer. Plus, this 32 GB maximum memory size is affordable by the student. Though some people may find that this memory size is expensive, it is still worth of buying because it really can help the student!! In a nutshell, this 32 GB maximum memory size is the best to be used by student as it can has a massive capacity in storing a lot of data.

SCL 1 (Quad Core Processor)

A quad-core processor is a chip with four independent units called cores that read and execute central processing unit (CPU) instructions such as add, move data, and branch.Within the chip, each core operates in conjunction with other circuits such as cache, memory management, and input/output (I/O) ports. The individual cores in a quad-core processor can run multiple instructions at the same time, increasing the overall speed for programs compatible with parallel processing. Manufacturers typically integrate the cores onto a single semiconductor wafer, or onto multiple semiconductor wafers within a single IC (integrated circuit) package.

More Cores or Faster Clock Speed?

On the whole, a system with a faster dual-core will feel faster in day-to-day work, but the quad core will reward you when you multitask or the more scientific your work. For an example, the 3.1GHz Intel Core i3-2100 (dual-core) in the Gateway ZX6961-UB20P got a very good 2,639 point score at PCMark7 (a test of day-to-day use), but only a 2.99 point score at CineBench R11.5 (a 3D rendering test). At the same time, Intel Core 2.7GHz Core i5-2500S (quad-core) in a HP Compaq 8200 Elite USDT which got a much lower 2,190 score on PCMark7, but a much higher 4.45 point score on CineBench. The extra cache and cores in the i5-2500S helped the HP get a much higher score on the CineBench R11.5 test, where such enhancements benefit performance.

Quad-core Processor Benefits?

 Multitasking
  •  another important benefit of quad-core processors that will likely be noticed by the average user is that their speed is multitasking. When a single-core processor runs several programs at once, it becomes slow down. with a quad-core, each quad core can be assigned a different program, so even fairly intense programs can be run at the same time without much slowdown.
Long-term Use
  • One of the biggest problems with technology is that components become obsolete very quickly. Quad-core processors are distinctive in that there are not many existing programs as of 2009 that can properly utilize them. In essence, the processor technology is ahead of the software's ability to utilize them, so quad-core processors will likely be useful and be able to run program efficiency for several years before they become obsolete.
Considerations
  • despite their advantages, quad-core processors have received much skepticism from consumers, since their advantages are only noticed in a few circumstances. Many consider dual core processors to be a cheaper alternatives to quad core, which yields little or no noticeable drop in performance. Others believe that by the time programs and games are produced that can fully utilize multiple cores, there will be processors with more than four course available on the market.

CPU CACHE Small memories on or close to the CPU can operate faster than the much larger main memory. Most CPUs since the 1980s have used one or more caches, and modern high-end embedded, desktop and server microprocessors may have as many as half a dozen, each specialized for a specific function. Examples of caches with a specific function are the D-cache and I-cache (data cache and instruction cache).EDITED BY EMIRA IZZATI AZIZ

SCL 1 (Intel HD Graphics 4600)

the ideal desktop for our group is intel core i5-4670 for its processor which has intel HD Graphics 4600 built in graphic card. The perks of having such graphic for a desktop or even a laptop is that it can support 3D settings. This includes 3D gaming and such. Its high and one of the latest technology allows it to be able to have clear video HD technology for video viewing. This by extends will allow it to read blu-ray discs. In relation to it, it also allow quick syncing video. this refers to the use case of quickly transcoding ( "syncing" ) a video from DVD Blu-ray Disc to a desired format such as mp4 which can be uploaded to a smart phone. The accelerated video encoding technologies gives lower quality result than with cpu only encoders however speed is prioritized over quality. This graphic card also have the wireless display which allow it to stream any videos, musics or even photos from a compatible computer without connecting to any source such as HDTV or even adapter. Intel insider is also automatically installed inside the processor which provide protection for the media. It has Flexible Display Interface (FDI) which provide a path between an intel processor and an Intel Southbridge on a computer motherboard which carries display data from the graphics controller of the Intel processor package to the display connectors attached at some PCH versions.

The processor have cache 6MB which interprets data at fast speed. In computer science, a cache is a component that transparently stores data so that future requests for that data can be served faster. The data that is stored within a cache might be values that have been computed earlier or duplicates of original values that are stored elsewhere. If requested data is contained in the cache (cache hit), this request can be served by simply reading the cache, which is comparatively faster. Otherwise (cache miss), the data has to be recomputed or fetched from its original storage location, which is comparatively slower. Hence, the greater the number of requests that can be served from the cache, the faster the overall system performance becomes. To be cost efficient and to enable an efficient use of data, caches are relatively small. Nevertheless, caches have proven themselves in many areas of computing because access patterns in typical computer applications have locality of reference. References exhibit temporal locality if data is requested again that has been recently requested already. References exhibit spatial locality if data is requested that is physically stored close to data that has been requested already.
